Miles Coverdale (): English Bible translator. He laso served as Bishop of Exeter , but lost the post when Mary Tudor became queen. As a translator, his work was of very little value; he had no Hebrew and little if any Greek. Myles Coverdale (also spelled Miles Coverdale) (c. – 20 January ) was a 16th-century Bible translator who produced the first complete printed translation of the Bible into English.. From to , he appears to have spent most of his time on the Continent. In he published the first complete English Bible in print, the so-called Coverdale Bible.
